It's that appointment all ladies hate!

I was up nice and early to get ready for 'that' appointment. Yes, it was my routine smear today, don't you just hate it??

Heather called just before I left so I had a quick chat to her and then left - glad it was an early appointment, I hate waiting all day.

I arrived at the surgery and had to wait for about 20 minutes and read and copied a nice recipe for barbecued pork fillet which I will try when the weather gets warmer.

I was called in and I know, from past smears, that they like you to lie on your side here which is in actual fact a little more dignified. Sometime it works with me and sometimes not. Today, the nurse told me she likes ladies to 'jump up and down on the spot a few times'. So, before getting up onto the bed, I did. Just as well I don't need those Tena lady things!!!! It must have worked as she had no trouble and it was all over and done with so fast. I was impressed. So ladies next time you have to go for a smear try jumping up and down a few times before you get on the bed!!

I paid my $38 and left to go and get some coffee to take back for Jon and I.

I got home and we had our coffee and in the middle of it Jon had a phone call to say there had been an accident at the port and one of their contract workers had had his foot severed in a winch!!! After that the phone was hot with calls to and from various people at the office. Not much is yet know as to how it happened and there will be an investigation.

I took Tot out for her walk and met Avon Carol doing her deliveries and we had a chat. Lovely and warm outside today.

I made lunch and then went across to Bethlehem to help with the books and spent the afternoon there. I did hear the news on the radio my way which said one of Genera's workers had lost a foot in an accident.

I came home and Jon told me the man had been flown to Waikato Hospital as they thought the man's foot could be re attached but it couldn't and his leg has been amputated just below his knee. How awful and he is only 41, very sad. Now we will have to wait and see how it happened. The men will be allowed back to work tomorrow though.

I brought some cookery magazines home with me and sat for a while reading and had a cuppa.

I made the dinner and we had spaghetti. I gave Jon some lettuce and cucumber with it. It is four weeks now but I don't know for how long we should not try new foods for. Hopefully, it will be OK with no side effects - literally!! Lol. Sorry!

We watched some TV and now I am off to bed as I need to get Totty to the vet for 8.00 tomorrow.

WEATHER
Mostly sunny 17 degrees
