We were both up early this morning and got ready - Jon for work and me for keep fit. The bricklayer arrived at 7.30 and started to put the block base around the garage. There is a big step up to it so not sure what will happen with that.
I took Totty out for here walk before I went to my class and it was so warm and sunny. Could this be the start of summer?
It was a really good class but very warm. I stayed to have a coffee and then went to make a doctor's appointment as I still have this pain and wonder if it could be a hiatus hernia?
I went to the supermarket to buy some bread and then went home and the bricklayer had gone so a peaceful house.
I rang the theatre about Mary Poppins tickets as I had an email to say they could not refund but we could book for a later date as it has now been extended. I booked for 23 December which is the day before we pick Heather up and hopefully Jon will be well enough to drive by then.
I intended to do some cleaning but thought I would just see if any new houses had gone up on the ten or so web sites I check on.
I found one that had been up for a day last week and we did have a look at the outside but it was taken down very quickly. I rang the agent and arranged a viewing at 4.00 and then called Jon to tell him.
Just as I put the phone down the other agent called to say he had the keys to the house we were waiting on so I arraigned a viewing at 2.30 and called Jon who said he would meet me there.
I just had time for a quick sandwich and off I went. The house from the outside looks nice and it has wonderful views from the back but inside it is very old fashioned with fluffy carpets and net curtains and a pale pink bathroom and I can't see us living in it at all.
We got home and Jon had his lunch - late! We left to go and see the other house and we both fell in love with it. It is bright and modern and clean. The views are amazing and the garden is beautiful and the rent includes a gardener. The agent told me there was another couple going to have it but she found out she was pregnant and it is not a house for babies which is why it went back up on the web again. She said another couple had wanted it, too. We told her we could move in ASAP and it was a company rent and we want long term (the owners have gone overseas). She said she would go back to the office and decide and call me. She did say that she liked us better than the other couple as she said the lady was 'in her face'.
We got home and I was on pins. The phone rang and it was the agent, Karen and she asked for Jon's passport number to do an ID check on us and then she said assuming that was OK the house was ours. I was soooo excited and told her but I think she knew by my reaction. We go into the office after Jon's clinic appointment to sign the lease and pay the bond. Once that is done Jon is going to email the owner from here and give him notice and hopefully we can pack up and be out by 9 November. So now we have soooooooooooo much to do I don't know where to start.
I made dinner and we watched some TV. I watched 'One Born Every Minute' for the first time and cried so not sure I will watch it again.
Off to bed now for some sweet dreams. This is the best news.
WEATHER
Sunny and a warm 23 degrees
