A busy day

I had a lovely sleep last night and I didn't wake once - good dog!

I did a load of washing first thing and hung it out and then took Totty out for a walk but she was very reluctant to go and we only got half way down the road and she stopped so we came back. I have no idea why she behaves like that sometimes.

It was then time to take Jon to work and I stopped to get him a coffee on the way. I left him at the office and said I would pick him up at 1.00.

I went off to meet the ladies I used to go swimming with and we had a coffee. They had asked to see the wedding photos and I took them along. They thought they were really lovely and loved the old church and the Jockey Club setting. I never appreciated life in England and all the history until I came out here and everything is so new We are very lucky and we have so many lovely countries in Europe to visit and they are on our doorstep.

We spent a lovely morning chatting and then the ladies left and it was still half an hour till I had to go for Jon so I went down to the Mount shops for a wander. Jon phoned to say could I make it 2.00. I then had a dilemma did I go home or wander some more?

I decided that I would go and see my friend, Carol,at the Red Cross at the Mount as she works there Wednesdays. It was nice to have a catch up as I haven't seen her for a while. She was sorting clothes and pricing them and she pulled out a very nice tunic type top and I tried it on and it fits really well, I just can't resist!

Carol was telling me that people had been saying Red Cross prices were too expensive compared to the new hospice shop that has recently opened down in the Mount and that they are not getting so many donations now.

We had a walk down to the bank to get some change and then it was time for me to leave as I had to drop of some books at the library.

The hospice shop is on my way to Jon's office so I stopped by as I was a few minutes early and thought I would check out the prices.

I found the crockery and kitchen things to be more expensive than we charge at the Red Cross but the clothes, and they didn't have much in, were very cheap. I noticed a pair of black leather shoes and I have been looking for some I can wear for every day and that don't hurt my bunion! These are brand new black slingbacks with a low heal and are so soft I just had to buy them and they were really expensive $4!!!! Two pounds, what a bargain.

I went to the office and Jon was still in a meeting with Rachel but said he wouldn't be long so I chatted to Tracey, new English receptionist, for a while.

When Jon had finished we left and as it was way past lunch we stopped into Bayfair and bought a sandwich before going home.

I was supposed to go to help with the books today but it was too late. Once Jon starts to drive himself it will be easier for me but at least he is feeling better for going into the office.

We didn't do much all afternoon, Jon is getting through lots of books. I heard on the radio news that there had been a strong quake up north this afternoon but I didn't see anything on the TV news so not sure how strong it was.

I made dinner and I gave Jon some beans tonight. Not sure how they will effect him but we have to try things and if it isn't good we won't try again but I am so fed up with what we are eating now and it is not good for my weight so I will have to do something about it.

WEATHER
