Wednesday

I got up early this morning as I was going to walk around the Mount and then go for a coffee with Les but she texted to say she couldn't make it - I could have had a lie in!!

I did some cleaning and a bit of washing and then went out and stopped off and had a coffee before going on to the post office to post some cards.

I then went to have a look for a new make-up mirror as mine is falling apart but I must have had it for years and years.

I did a bit of shopping before going home for lunch and I made a bean salad. We got lots of cards in the post today which was nice. I have put them away till our birthdays.

It was colder in the house than outside so I had to light the fire!! I watched a little more of the Queens Jubilee Service at St Paul's but I still didn't get to the end.

I texted Bronwyn to say I would take her out for a coffee tomorrow is she wanted to go but she then phoned to invite me out to lunch with her and Peter tomorrow which will be nice.

Jon called and we had a chat. He seemed brighter today and said he had managed to do a lot of work and had interviewed a man for a job. He had been out to a local cafe mid morning but he said the coffee wasn't good and he might go into Hamilton tomorrow for lunch. He had roast pork for dinner last night and he said the dinner was OK but the gravy was just like an Oxo cube.

I made my dinner, leftover chicken from Sunday, and it was just as good with some salad. I can cook fresh tomorrow as I have used up all the leftovers. If I eat at lunch time I will only need a snack.

I watched the Jubilee Concert and really enjoyed it but it is now past midnight and even the man who reads the news said it is too late to be up now so I am off to bed!!
