Lions Meeting

A short blog today as not much has happened and I have been out to a dinner and spent a long time chatting to a friend in the UK and it is now way past my bedtime.

In fact, I have spent a lot of time on the phone today as Kirsty called this morning and we chatted for nearly two hours mostly about wedding things! She is getting things sorted but it is all very stressful and so much to do but I am sure it will all be lovely on the day.

Apart from a bit of housework and walking Tot in a cold wind I haven't done much and don't know where the time has gone.

Jon called and said he is fine but the weather is cold in Hamilton. He walked into Hamilton for lunch as the dinner last night was not very good - fatty belly pork. He had a big meal and so bought a sandwich to have for tonight and he will stay in his room. Apart from that he hasn't done anything. His treatment is at 9.00 tomorrow so he will probably be home by 11.00 but will go into the office.

I lit the fire this afternoon as I didn't want to come in to a cold house after my dinner meeting. I left it stacked with logs and closed the air vent and when I came in I put a bit of kindling on and it was soon burning nicely so I know what to do in future if I go out.

The Lions dinner meeting was at a new venue in Tauranga and we had caterers in to do the meal which was roast pork. They did some really lovely vegetables with it and good crackling. Pudding was an apple and raspberry crumble with cinnamon in the crumble which was very good but far too big. On the whole everybody liked it and we will have to see how the next dinner is.

We had two young people in who gave the speeches they entered for the Young Speechmakers Competition. They were two very confident people and very chatty. I did my Tail Twister bit, my last one as it is changeover night, and it was well received as it usually is but I am glad it is over. I have not taken on any job for this coming year as I thought I would be tied up with Jon and going to UK.

I had picked up two ladies to take and I dropped them off home and then came in and phoned my friend and now I really must go to bed.
