This mouse is costing me a fortune!

I woke this morning to a very dull day and it was cold.

I had re set the mouse traps last night with, wait for it, chocolate 70% cocoa no less. Still nothing but a lot of droppings around the pantry but at least they hadn't got into my new cereals as I had left them on top of the hob.

I went out to the Red Cross and was early for a change! When I arrived Les told me that Sharon would not be in as her husband's step father had died and they had gone down to Hawke's Bay to the family. I hope they have a good trip as there is snow on the desert road now.

As it was just the two of us till 11.00 we were very busy and had more than the usual one phone call, it didn't stop all morning. Madori came in at 11.00 and I was then able to go and buy our coffee which we were really looking forward to as it was so cold in the shop. No sun shinning makes a big difference.

The rest of the morning went over very fast and it was soon 1.00 and time to leave but I didn't actually get out of the shop till nearly 2.00 as I had a look around and found some nice sherry glasses and some very nice porcelain kitchen canisters for tea, coffee and sugar - more mouse protection!

I called home but there was no reply so I assumed Jon had gone into the office and I went to the supermarket and did my shopping. I also bought more plastic containers to put the cereal and other things in so that nothing is left for the mouse to eat and perhaps he/she might actually go into the trap!

On the way back I dropped a skirt in to Bronwyn that I thought she might like for her holiday to Fiji.

I got home and was very hungry and the house was soooo cold. Jon had been home and then gone into work. I heated some soup and the lit the fire just as Jon came back.

I have ordered some logs but as I hadn't heard anything I phoned the lady and she told me they will deliver tomorrow or Sunday so hopefully we can make what we have last till then.

Jon and I had a cup of tea and he told me about his week - really exciting!! He does look tired and I am glad I haven't made any arrangements for tomorrow. If he feels like it we will just go out to lunch.

He went out for our fish and chips and as it was so cold I got the little table from the garden and set it up by the fire as the other end of the room is just too cold. We had a really cosy dinner sitting by the fire.

Heather and Kirsty called to wish him a happy birthday and happy father's day as they will be on Kirty's hen party and won't be able to call him.

We watched some TV and then Jon went up to bed. I watched a bit more TV and now I am going to bed.

WEATHER
Overcast and COLD 15 degrees
