I woke up this morning and as soon as I did the phone rang and it was Kirsty. We had a chat about her hen party and wedding plans. She has caught a cold from Heather who spread it around at the weekend!
I checked the cupboard this morning and a mouse has been back!!
I stayed home all day today apart from taking Tot out. I happened to take her when two bin lorries were doing their rounds which made the walk very difficult as she really hates the noise.
I was hanging the washing out and watching the kingfishers diving into the water and coming out with little fish. I saw them do it four times and would have liked to take a photo but I am sure I would not have got the action shot.
I decided to use the pumpkin that Mark gave me a couple of weeks ago and used half to make soup and the other half to make a pumpkin pie. I had some soup for my lunch which was nice and the pumpkin pie mix was enough to make a big one and six small ones. So I have lots of puddings to freeze.
When I was making the pastry I had to get a new bag of flour down from a shelf and as I did so I got a flour shower as the mouse had chewed two holes in the bag. This mouse or maybe mice has a lot to answer for.
Jon called this evening and is still doing well with no problems and is looking forward to coming home tomorrow. His treatment is at 10.00 tomorrow and he has a blood test on Fridays but he should be back in Tauranga by 1.00 at the latest but he will go into the office.
I had some chilli that I had taken out of the freezer for my dinner and watched some episodes of Call the Midwife that I have recorded.
