Considering how awful I felt going to bed last night I felt fine this morning and we did manage to get up at a more sensible time.
The mouse/mice have been round again and left lots of droppings. I cleaned up the shelves again and put more things away in plastic containeres. I can't do anymore so if they don't go into the humane traps tonight I am going to put the other traps out but I hate the thought of killing them!!
We had breakfast and Jon went down to start stacking the logs. Once I had had my breakfast I too went down to help and it is amazing how fast you can get things done when you work together, I filled the buckets and Jon stacked them and soon it was all clear.
We then went and sorted all the leaves I had swept up last week and we did that pretty fast, too.
Jon then went and had a shower and I finished off in the garage and put the fence back to stop Tot getting out.
We went into Tauranga and sat in Red Square in the sunshine and had a coffee. Jon then went off to do some shopping on his own, I am sure it has nothing to do with my birthday!!! I went to buy a frying pan! As we have an induction hob you can't just buy any old pan it has to be for the hob and they are expensive. I didn't find any I liked and so sat in the car to wait for Jon and I played a game on my iPod while I waited.
We then went to look in another kitchen shop before going over to Bayfair to another bigger shop. I found a pan I liked which will also go in the oven and as they had a sale on I bought a few things to take home for the girls and some very nice place mats. When we went to pay I used a $25 Visa gift card I had and with the discounts for the sales I pretty much got the pan for nothing so a good day's shopping.
We then went to buy some things in the supermarket and then to the liquor store to buy some real beer before we went home for lunch.
After lunch Jon was tired so lit the fire and watched TV and I took Tot out. On the way back my new neighbour was in the garden so I shouted out to her to introduce myself. We had a nice chat and it turns out she is the mother of our golf teacher, Mikaela, we used to have. The golf teacher is the girlfriend of my friend's (Sharon from Red Cross) nephew! Small world even down here. My neighbour, Helen, looks so young and I told her she looked too young to have a daughter as old as Mikaela. I wasn't creeping but she was pleased!! It was nice to have a chat with her and of course I told her about Jon as she said she thought he was going off to work away every week. She has a lovely little kitten which I hope stays over her side and does not come over to 'visit' Totty! She told me that the old lady from next door has been put in a home but has already run away - twice. Very sad. I think I can now ask if I can pick some of her persimmon fruit!!
I did some ironing and Jon was watching Ben Hur. The new wood takes a bit to get the fire going but once it does it seems to be hotter and not burn so fast.
I cooked some nice lamb medallions for dinner tonight which we had sitting by the fire at the small table again.
Jon is going to go into the office for an hour in the morning as he doesn't need to be over in Hamilton till 6.00 so he will have lunch here and then go.
WEATHER
Sunny 15 degrees
