TVNZ News!!!!

I was really tired this morning and regretted staying up so late last night even though I did enjoy the phone call to my friend!!

I got ready for work and managed to leave the house in plenty of time and arrived just about on time!!

We had a busy morning and put out lots of clothes. The EFTPOS machine (the credit/debit card machine) was down and had been down all week so we had to remeber to tell people when they came to the checkout. There were lots of parcels on layby for people who had not had cash and said they would come back for them.

The new part finally arrived by courier for the machine and Sharon, after a long phone conversation, probably from India, got it all up and running again.

Les had to make sure she left on time as she is now looking after her granddaughter and Bianca, her daughter, had to be in the shop for a meeting at 1.30. I think it is going to take a while for things to sort themselves out and for Bianca to feel happy about being back at work. she is lucky to have her mum here to look after the baby but I understand it must be hard to leave her but it will do them both good to have some separation.

I left about one and then went to do my shopping before going home for lunch and it was late again so I was very hungry.

There was a postcard from all of Jon's family from Cyprus which was lovely of them to have thought of us.

Jon had been home and unpacked and gone to the office. After my lunch I sorted through his washing and put it in the machine and then took Tot out.

I lit the fire when I got back and did a few jobs. Jon came home and we had a cup of tea. He had been in the office working and felt tired so decided to come home which is good as he shouldn't push himself. He had his treatment this morning and his blood test so only four more to go. His treatment on Monday is at 4.00 so he won't need to go over early and will go into the office and have lunch here and then go.

We watched the tennis and Nadal!!!!! Oh dear, what an upset. We then watched the Six O'clock News. We are so often amused by the news on Kiwi TV and tonight was a classic. They were reporting on a story about a car that was stolen from outside a petrol station and it had two children in the back, a three year old and an 18 month old. The father aged 22 reported the car as stolen and the police saw it and gave chase. The car crashed but the two children were fine as they had been safely strapped in. The reporter was interviewing the father and asked the three year old what he had said to the thief when he got into the car 'I told him to piss off' he said!!!!!!! I laughed so much. Only in NZ would you get that.

Jon went over to Maungatapu, where we used to live, for out fish and chips tonight. It is much nicer from over there and it means he can go and have a beer while he waits and meet up with the locals.

We watched Coronation Street and then it was time for bed.

WEATHER
Mostly sunny with a cool wind 16 degrees but down to 2 degrees tonight. Hamilton will get down  to -3 so Jon is glad he is in Tauranga tonight!
