It was really cold last night but I didn't notice this morning as by the time we got up - 8.00 - the sun was up and shinning in the house and it was warm. However, when I collected doggy do's from the garden later this morning they were frozen!!!
We had breakfast and I hung out the washing and then we took Tot for her walk and while it was really lovely in the sun, the shade was sooo cold.
We put all the recycling in the car and went over to the recycling depot and deposited it all. We then went for a coffee at the Tect Arena which was very nice.
We had to go and have Jon's back tyres checked as he thought they might need to be changed. They are just about OK but will need changing so the garage will order some in for him.
We then went into Tauranga and Jon changed his library books and we had a wander round the shops and I bought some very nice cropped trousers in a sale.
Jon wanted to buy some chocolates for the cancer nurse, the lady who cleans his room and the Radiotherapy Department so we went to a very nice shop that sells handmade choclates and bought some for the nurse and cleaner and they were wrapped and put into very nice bags.
We then went to the supermarket and bought two nice boxes of very nice Belgian chocolaes for the Radiotherapy Department and some thank you cards. He will also give a donation to the lodge.
After our shopping we came home and had lunch and then read the papers and Jon fell asleep. I think it hit me for the first time that he was not well as for the past 32 years he has never fallen asleep in the chair in the afternoon. He slept till I started to get the fire ready to light as it was getting cold and I couldn't stand it any longer!!!
I cooked a very nice rack of lamb for our dinner and we watched TV in front of the fire. Unfortunately, most of the heat goes up the chimney!!! I hate winter!!
