Monday

We were both up and and ready early this morning as we had to be at the hospital for 8.40. Jon was not feeling very well this morning, he felt sick and generally unwell. As he has been so well and looks well it seems hard to believe that he does have cancer. I knew it couldn't last and the consultant said the side effects usually kick in after two weeks. She also said they would continue for two weeks after the treatment finishes. She told Jon to take some of the anti nausea tablets but that if it got worse they might trim the dose down.

We got home to find that I hadn't closed the pantry door and Totty had spread her biscuits about again!

We got back and he had the tablets and a drink of water and after about an hour he felt better and set off to go to Hamilton. I told him not to be a hero and if he needs the tablets to take them as that is what they are for. He has never liked to take tablets even when he has a headache.

When he left I hung out my washing and then took Tot out for her walk and it was very warm.

The trees at the side of the house have more or less lost all the leaves now and they are very thick on the ground so I decided to sweep them up and swept them all down into a little side passage and I thought I could then collect them up in my big bucket and take them to the compost. Unfortunately, I had misjudged the way to get into the passage from the back and it was too narrow for me and my bucket. I had to get into it from the front deck and pick up the leaves and then put them into a big builders bag and drag it down to the compost - phew. I got fed up after seven trips so will do the rest another day. the garden looks better though.

When I went in a friend had phoned and left a message so I called her and we arranged to meet up for a cup of tea. I had a quick lunch and then went to meet her. She is going to Canada next week for six weeks to stay with her son. We had a nice chat and then I left to take some of Jon's books back to the library and I just happened to see a shop with a closing down sale and found a very nice dress for $30 reduced from$180 - bargain.

On my way back I stopped by to see Margaret and Sharon. Margaret is going to the UK tomorrow for six weeks and I took Sharon some of the fruit and veg we were given yesterday.

By the time I got back it was getting dark and I had to get all my washing in which fortunately had not got damp. I fed Tot and then made my dinner - leftovers from Saturday.

Jon was late calling tonight but he sounded much more cheerful than this morning and said he felt better. His treatment was delayed and so he missed lunch so had to go to a cafe and get some. As he had a big lunch he bought a sandwich again and was going to have it in his room, watch a DVD and then go to bed early as he felt tired.

I watched some TV and I feel tired too so am off to bed for an earlyish night.

WEATHER
Sunny spells and some cloud 17 degrees
