A surprise lunch

We were up and Jon was ready to go over to Hamilton by 9.00 and off he went. I hung out three loads of washing and had breakfast after he had gone and read all about the Jubilee in the Mail Online. Looks like it was a lovely occasion and such a shame it rained.

I took Tot out and as I got to the end of the drive a little Schnauzer dog came running up to us. I have seen it before and it is a young dog and not one Totty likes as it is very boisterous so I picked Tot up. I called the dog to follow me to the park to see if I could find the owner but they were not there. I took Tot home and then went down the road to where the dog lives and it followed me part of the way then stopped.

I had an idea where it lived and went to the house but they were all out. I spoke to a neighbour and she said yes it was there dog and must have got out. She came with me and we found the dog in our garden and she took it home. He had very dirty muddy paws and had obviously been having a lovely time on his own in the park and playing in the water!!

I finally got back and took Tot out for the second time and we walked around the block.

When I got back I was going to do my ironing but as it was so nice I decided to sit out on the deck and read my magazine. It was so hot and I got quite rosy. Just before 1.00 I heard the key in the front door and got up to see what was going on and there was Jon! He said he had called and left a message but as the answer phone is in the bedroom I had not seen it flashing and I hadn't checked my mobile either.

He said his treatment was finished really fast and there was no traffic on the roads and as his treatment is not till 2.00 tomorrow he decided to come home rather than sit in the lodge all day. It was a lovely surprise as I was wondering what I was going to do with myself all day.

We went down to The Mount for lunch and sat in the sun and I had a burger which was far too big. We had an ice cream, walking along the front, for pudding. It was so busy down there and a really lovely day.

On the way home I bought some fish for dinner and we spent the rest of the afternoon at home.

I did a bit of ironing and put the clean sheets on the bed and that was it for the day, very relaxing.

I cooked the fish for dinner but I was still very full of burger!!!

I think we are in for some bad weather for the rest of the week and the South Island is in for a lot of snow!!
