Wednesday

A better day today when we woke thank goodness!

Jon left for work and I did some washing and got it out on the line and fortunately it dried and I missed the few showers that we had.

I went to meet my friend Diane for coffee. Her daughter had a baby on our anniversary and we haven't met since the birth so she had lots to tell me. Her daughter is a school teacher and is finding it hard to understand how she can control a class of twenty but has no control over her baby!!! Lol I am sure she will get there and it is early days.

We spent a long time over coffee but eventually we left and I went to see if I could find a cheap iron as I don't seem to be able to clear the lime scale from mine even after three treatments. It makes life very difficult having to iron without steam. I did find one but the EFTPOS (I have no idea what they are called in UK) system was down and so it was cash only and I didn't have enough with me so I had to leave it.

I then went to the fish shop down at the port and bought some fish for dinner.

On my way home I stopped at the Warehouse and found an iron that was cheaper and looked good enough so I bought it.

I got home and was surprised to see it was nearly 2.00, where had the morning gone!

I had lunch and watched the Downton Abbey Christmas special before starting on my ironing which was much easier with the new iron.

I watched the Australian Open while I was ironing and it was a really good ladies quarter final match.
I had to put the fan on as it was so warm but not sure if it was the weather, the ironing or the excitement!

Jon came home with the sailing dates for the container which are towards the end of March so we just need to get Totty's flight sorted and then book our tickets. It feels quite scary now and it is not long!!!

I had a quote today from a UK company that would collect her from the airport and organise the customs clearance which can take up to five hours!!! They will also deliver her to Newmarket but it is very expensive and the kennel fees to board her till we get home are twice what they are here. She is one expensive little dog!

So much to do. We now have a list that has all we need to sell which I am going to email to everyone I know here to see what we can sell ASAP and then we will have to think about the rest.

We had dinner, the dory fish was very good, and then we watched some TV.

I started reading the Thornbirds last night and can't wait to read some more now. I have read it but a long time ago.

WEATHER
Mixed weather, sunny start then cloudy and the odd light shower 25 degrees
