Wednesday

After some overnight rain we woke to a bright but somewhat windy morning.

After Jon left I did some washing and then went out to the shops. I found a very nice swimming costume. I wear them out so much here due to the salt in the hot pools and they go baggy so I did need a new one.

I did some shopping and then came home - no coffee today!

I hung out the washing and nearly got blown away. It looked cloudy but was very warm.

I had my lunch and then went to pick up Viv and Margaret to go to the cinema to see Philomena.

We got to the cinema and there was a big queue. Usually Margaret and I go in the morning and it is quiet but she had a doctor's appointment today so we were later than usual. I asked the lady if the cinema was full and she said about half. I asked if I could go and have a look as these cinemas are so small and we didn't want to be at the front. In the end we decided to buy tickets for tomorrow and get there earlier.

We went for a coffee and I have to say I had my worst cup of iced coffee I have ever had here in NZ. It was just cold milk with a shot of coffee and ice cubes, no ice cream or cream and to add insult to injury it cost me $6. Margaret and Viv had a flat white and a cappuccino so more work involved plus heating the milk and they only paid $5. This café is under new management and I noticed on a 'Best Tauranga Café Site' they are not getting good reviews and another person had complained about the iced coffee. If they can't do a decent coffee they will not last long!

We went home and I dropped M & V off and I came home and cooked spaghetti sauce for dinner. I thought it smelt a bit odd and when I looked at the tin of tomatoes I had used Indian flavour not Italian!!

Jon came in and said something smelt good - very unusual for him to comment!! I decided to serve it with rice rather than spaghetti and it turned out a little like a curry. Jon said it is my way of getting him back into eating spicy food! Would I do that? I do miss Indian food.

We watched some TV and I managed to stay awake tonight.

Much cooler tonight so I will need the duvet on. The forecast is for showers tomorrow as a cold front sweeps up the country. I just hope it carries on up and doesn't hang around.
