I had a lot of housework to do today ready for the inspection so I was very grateful for the cloudy and cool start. I sorted more drawers out and the bag for the Red Cross is growing. I really ought to finish one tube of hand cream before I start another I found six tubes of different brands all open. I have put all the new ones away and I will just use up the opened ones. I also found lots of body lotions from hotels we have stayed in which I will start to use as the bigger bottles can be packed to go home. I only keep the nice ones but we also have a drawer full of little bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and all the freebies the hotels give out and they were all collected by Heather!
I finally got the cleaning finished by 2.00 and I was very hungry and ready for my lunch so I sat down and watched last years, 2012, Christmas Downton Abbey as the one they showed this December will be on next week and I still need to catch up with seven episodes of the last season.
I didn't wash the floors as it was raining and I decided to wait until Wednesday to do them.
So out with the iron to tackle the mammoth pile of ironing I have. My iron has not been releasing steam which makes it hard to iron shirts so yesterday I bought some cleaner and cleaned it. Unfortunately, it hasn't worked and I still have no steam!
I did all the pile of shorts and tops that was lying on the spare bed tomorrow I will need to tackle all the shirts and dresses that I hang in the wardrobe. I had to put the fan on the table behind me as it was so hot - not much sun but very hot.
Tauranga was given the title of the sunniest place in New Zealand for last summer.
Jon came home and I gave up the ironing as I had had enough for today.
I cooked our dinner and we had hot smoked salmon and pasta with a cream cheese sauce this evening and it was very nice. That is now five nights we have had fish.
I bought a new variety of lettuce yesterday called Cosberg and we tried it tonight and it is nice. I prefer to buy a lettuce but up till now Jon has preferred the bags of mixed leaves but I think they have a funny smell and they go off very quickly so you waste a lot. When he came home from work this evening he told me he liked the iceberg lettuce I have been putting in his sandwiches as they are more crunchy! I have been trying to convince him on this one for years!
We watched Australia's Got Talent tonight. I watched the first one and thought it was terrible as it seemed to be all about the judges rather than the contestants and I didn't think much of Dawn French in it. I thought we should give it another try but I only watched half an hour. It was not quite so much about the judges but still not good so we turned it off.
I am meeting a friend to walk around the Mount tomorrow and then go for a coffee and I am meeting another friend to do the same on Wednesday. I will walk up the Mount one more time before we leave but not sure when.
WEATHER
Cloudy with some showers 24 degrees
