Sunday

When I got up this morning and pulled back the curtains and saw the beautiful view it made me realise how I will miss this. Jon suggests taking a panoramic photos and blowing it up to 20 foot high and putting it down at the bottom of the garden!!! What is he like!

When I got downstairs after my shower Jon was sitting out on the deck reading the newspaper online and he had already been for a walk for over an hour - it's Sunday!! If it makes him happy!

I cooked us some scrambled eggs for breakfast and then Jon went for a shower.

We took Totty out for a walk and I think it could well be the last she has! We managed to get her down to the bottom of the road and we were doing well and on the return when she decided to stop in the shade of a car and would not walk again. I had to pick her up and carry her the rest of the way. I really felt the lack of my keep fit classes while carrying nearly eight kilograms of dog back up the hill!

We then went down to the Mount and stopped for a coffee on the way but it took ages to arrive as they were so busy. We sat outside but the sun was too hot so we had to go indoors. The iced coffee, when it arrived, was more a Frappuccino and although good it was too thick and very filling so I was glad I refused the muffin!

We then went to Tay Street beach, our normal beach, but it was very busy as they had the inflatable dinghy racing on today. Very busy in NZ is not really busy by UK standards but there were a lot of people.

It was lovely on the beach, the perfect temperature with just a little breeze and we were able to sit and watch the races which were very fast and exciting but glad we were spectators.

We left the beach at 1.00 and stopped by the supermarket to buy some strawberries as I needed to take a dessert to the bbq this afternoon and I had forgotten to make the one I had planned so Eaton Mess it had to be.

Once home I had a shower and then made the pudding while eating some bread and ham and was soon ready to leave. Jon was going to stay home and do some banking etc.

It took me about half an hour to get to the orchard where the bbq was and it was a lovely spot. An old house built by Jim many yeas ago and a lovely garden with beautiful trees and lots of pathways taking you deep into the garden. Lots of chickens around who lay their eggs everywhere but due to a very randy cockerel can never be eaten. There were a huge selection of fruit trees and lots of different birds in the garden a really lovely spot.

Pudding was just being served so I timed it well. There were only about 12 of our Lions ladies there but we spent a very pleasant afternoon sitting in the garden.

I got home about 6.00 and Jon lit the bbq and we cooked the fish we had bought on the bbq and it was very good. As the horrible wind has gone away we were able to enjoy dinner on the deck again.

After washing up we watched some TV but I feel asleep.

WEATHER
Sunny 25 degrees
