What a day! We wished we had gone to the warm up day yesterday at the air show, clear blue sky and good acrobatic display which we saw on our way home from the car!
Too late now!
We went out for breakfast before the show and arrived there about half an hour after it opened. We went to this show four years ago and it was really good, lots going on, lots of stalls, good weather and very crowded. Today, nothing much happening, not many stalls, not very good weather and the only plus was not many people!
We had a walk around and ended up sheltering from a heavy downpour under the wing of a huge NZ Air Force plane! It didn't last long and we carried on with our look around.
We decided to go back to the car and get our chairs out and on the way saw a good parking spot where we would be able to watch from the comfort of the car so, we moved the car and spent the next hour watching from the car.
We then went for a walk and bought a drink before getting our chairs and sitting along the runway to watch the test of the show. We had a very nice snapper burger for lunch.
The show was not really that good and didn't seem to get going and lacked atmospher probably due to the weather.
The end of the show was supposed to be a race with an Audi car and a car being dropped from a helicopter but due to a false start and the car being dropped before the Audi started it ended in a real mess!
We got home and had a cuppa and I then read my book, the Thornbirds which I am really enjoying.
I cooked dinner and we watched some TV.
Jon has now gone to bed and I am watching the Melbourne final but not sure I will make the end.
