Monday

We woke to a lovely morning today, sunny but a little windy.

Heather called and we had a chat and a catch up. That is the first time we have spoken to her since before Christmas, apart from the video call, as she has only just got her new phone line so it was nice to chat to her again.

I took Totty out for a walk but she would only go down the hill and then I had to come back.

The gardener came with his wife to cut the grass and told me they had a good Christmas and enjoyed the beer I gave him.

I spent the rest of the morning messing around on the computer. I did intend to go to the beach as I had done all my housework yesterday but as it was windy I thought I would get covered in sand.

I had my lunch and it was really hot but still windy. I decided to sit out on the deck but I later whished I had gone to the beach as it was really hot so I ended up sitting under the shade on the swing. I find it very boring sitting on the deck so I listened to my audiobook Great Expectations. I have never read it and I really enjoyed it as it is a lovely story. I was glad it was an audiobook though as I think it could have been hard work.

I came in and had a shower to cool down and then put the fan on and ironed the sheets and carried on and did all Jon's holiday shirts so I am up to date with shirts again.

Jon was late home as he went for a walk around the Mount after work.

We had dinner and watched Coronation Street. They have changed the times yet again and it is now on for two hours once a week. At least we can record it and watch it as and when we like as two hours is a bit much.

I have had terrible hayfever for the last three days and had to give in tonight and take some antihistamine before I rub my nose and eyes off my face. It is so horrible. I don't know how Jane puts up with it non stop.

I forgot to mention on Friday that Jon had a call from the hospital to book his surgery for 21 January which is not far away. Not sure how long he will be in but hopefully they can do keyhole so it won't be too long.

Once the evening had cooled down I went up to make the bed and I think I will go and enjoy the nice clean sheets and have an early night.
