It was so hot and uncomfortable last night even with the fan on in the bedroom.
Totty seems to be sleeping much better since she came back from kennels. I haven't put a cover in her bed and she has not been waking me to put one on her. Not sure if it is because she is out of the habit or she is too hot also. Time will tell.
As it is the first Sunday of the month it is our breakfast out weekend. We went up to a place that is owned by a couple from Yorkshire and had breakfast but it was not the best. It was not freshly cooked, the bacon must have been sitting in the oven and the poached eggs were hard. That is another place we won't go back to for breakfast but they do a good lunch!
We then went to Bethlehem market and had a look round. It was pretty quiet there today, not many stalls and even less people.
We decided to go down to the Mount which, due to the Celebrity Solstice being in port, was very busy. We had a look around the farmers market and then went and sat in a bar and I had an iced coffee.
One of my friends from Lions walked past and stopped to chat. She told me she was on the cruise ship with her family but had come for a walk around and to get a decent coffee - she was being a tourist!! They had boarded in Auckland and were sailing round NZ then across to Tasmania, Melbourne and flying back from Sydney. Sounds very nice but not sure I would ant to be on such a huge ship.
We came home and her remark about getting off to look for a decent coffee made me wonder about the café culture here in NZ as everyone loves their coffee and there are so many cafes. I checked on the Internet and found that NZ are 34 out of the top 100 and the UK is 44 which surprised me. Even more surprising is number one - Finland!!!! I think I have too much time on my hands!!
We came home and Jon had a Cornish pasty for lunch and I had some fruit. The weather was not good this afternoon and we had a few showers but still so hot.
Well it was time to take down the Christmas tree so I got stuck into that this afternoon. We had bought another two Christmas teddy bears so needed another box to fit them all in so Jon went out to the Warehouse to buy one. Everything is now packed away and the house is clean. I just wish I could get rid of the spiders as easily. They seem to be everywhere this year and no sooner do I knock them down than they are back again. I don't like to kill them but I do wish they would not make so much mess!
I cooked dinner and we had some lovely, huge Moolooliba prawns to start. I am really getting into this fish thing now and Bertie seems much better with it, too.
I watched part of the final of X Factor USA and although I know who won it is nice to see how they got there.
It was 11.30 and Jon had gone to bed and I was just about to go up and finish my blog when the doorbell rang. I went to answer it and a man was standing there asking if Bella was home!!!! I have no idea where he came from and he walked off down the street. A mystery.
WEATHER
Hot and humid with some rain 28 degrees
