Yet another change! We now have our computer set up but Jon didn't tell me so last night when I went to do my blog the computer was turned off and I couldn't be bothered to start it up again. Tonight, yet again Jon had turned it all off! He NEVER turned the computer off in NZ and it takes ages to get it started and it is too late for doing things like that but thought I had better tonight or I will have three nights to catch up.
Yesterday was another busy day of unpacking and not knowing where to put things and getting more and more frustrated with the amount of things we have. I really should have been more ruthless before we left NZ.
By the end of the day things were not looking much better, I just had more empty boxes and a bigger pile of paper and bubble wrap!
I popped over to see Rene who appears to be more confused than ever. She asked me if I knew her sister had died. She also told me she was found on the floor but still insists it was by the front door. I told her I found her and it was at the back door and she said 'Did you'? Her sister's funeral is next week but she can't remember if it is Wednesday or Thursday. There will be no refreshments after the funeral which I find very sad and Fran would be very upset about it all as she always liked things done properly.
Thursday.
Up and at it again with the unpacking as soon as we had finished breakfast. I could cry at the state of the place.
My neighbour, Edna, called round at 9.40 to say that Rene's blinds were not open and I told her I had noticed. I told her I had ben there last evening and I didn't think she looked as well as she had in hospital. We both went across and into the house and Rene was still in bed. We called her name and she woke up and was surprised it was so late and said she had been up for a long time in the night and was tired! Every morning has the potential to be like this now.
I carried on with my unpacking and then we went out for a coffee. The traffic was bad as it was racing and Ladies Day but what a shame as it was such horrible weather.
We had a coffee and then went to Homebase where we spent an age choosing shelves to go in the garage to put everything on and tidy it all up so that I can store my small, kitchen appliances in there as there is nowhere to keep them in the kitchen and as they are not used every day it will be the best solution.
We got back and Jon started to sort out the garage and not one to do things by half everything had to be pulled out and sorted and by the evening it was half done and looking much better. Still no shelves yet for my things so the family room still looks like a packing shed!
Heather called to say she was going to Jane and Jason's for dinner and as I had a big pasta bake I decided to go and buy something for Jon and I and leave the pasta bake for tomorrow.
I went to Waitrose and was surprised how busy it was for 6.30 in the evening and the traffic leaving the races was very heavy, too. I bought a few things that were reduced so that I can keep them in the freezer and then went home.
We had dinner late and then watched some TV.
It is still raining but hopefully it will be better tomorrow. I have a lady interested in the bed but nothing definite yet. I now have lots of people wanting my boxes but just waiting for the man who replied first to confirm when he can collect them. I will be glad when they are gone.
Off to bed now.
WEATHER
Pretty miserable both days with lots of rain on Thursday
