The tree surgeon came to cut the lime tree down this morning but when he got up he could see another nest with two baby pigeons in so would not touch it. Today would have been a good day to have it down as the new patio is going down next week so it will make things a little more difficult for them. We have decided to wait now till 22 September and hopefully, the nesting season will be over but who knows with pigeons!
I did some work on the bay window scrapping paint and filler off them before getting ready for my dreaded breast screening.
I left to drive into Newmarket and took some curtains back that we had bought for Heather' bedroom. She now wants wallpaper on one wall so the patterened curtains will be no good so I changed them for some plain red ones. I also took more stuff to the charity shop.
I then ran out of time so had to go to the hospital for my x-ray but arrived very early. Fortunately, they were not busy so I went in straight away and was finished before the time I was due to go in. I hate these x-rays as they really hurt. Just as well it is only every three years!
I then went back to the shops and bought some food for lunch as Jane was coming over. Jon was out with someone for lunch today about some training he may be involved with.
I got home and Jane arrived soon after with a yelling Riley as he was very hungry. She seems to be feeding him all the time but I am sure he will soon settle into a routine.
I ate my lunch and then when Jane had finished feeding Riley she ate hers while I nursed him - such a hardship! He looked so cute today in his little Mickey Mouse suit. We put him on the floor on the blanket I knitted and he fell asleep. He didn't sleep long but was quite happy to lie there for a little while.
Jon came home and made a cuppa and then it was time for Jane to get Riley home for his next feed.
Heather came home and could not make her mind up about going for a bike ride as it looked like rain. she decided to go for it but regretted it as she was caught in a very heavy downpour and got wet!
We had dinner and then took Totty out for a walk. Heather had left her bike at her friend's house, not far away, and the friend had brought her home so we collected her bike on the way back.
I heard from Jane that Jason's granddad has been taken into hospital tonight and Jason was there till late. He has not been eating and they have tried to give him protein drinks but he is not taking them so they want him in. All very upsetting for them.
I later had a call from Kirsty to tell me that James' nana who had a stroke on Tuesday is very poorly and it is only a matter of time. It is very sad as she is a lovely lady and we spent a lovely day with her at K&J a couple of weeks ago.
Kirsty also rang to tell me the arrangement for Sunday as we are going to the live auditions for the X Factor and I am very excited!! It is a long show though as it starts at 6.30 and finishes at 11.45. I need to sort out something to wear!
We watched some TV and tomorrow I have my gynae appointment!!
WEATHER
Sunny and warm 24 degrees.
