I did intend to dye my hair this morning but I woke up later than I intended an as I also wanted to paint the conservatory, the conservatory won!
It was soon very warm in the conservatory and I was working as fast as I could but had only completed half of it by coffee time. I decided to get changed and go out for coffee and do my shopping and continue later.
Costa, at Tesco, was a very welcome cool relief and the coffee was very good today.
We then did our shopping and as Tesco did not have any fresh prawns for my paella we had to go to Waitrose who had none either so went to the fish shop who did have some thank goodness and then we went home.
By the time we got back there was not much time to do any painting so after putting the shopping away I made lunch and started painting as soon as I had finished.
It was hot work but I had soon got it finished and looking good.
Jon had had an email asking him to rate the decorators!!!!!! Well, he had to tell the truth as we did not want anyone else to go through what we have. Not long after we had a call from Mark asking why we had put up such a bad review so Jon told him. Meanwhile I had filled in all the holes from the nail gun in the skirting, and all the other cracks around the doors and windows which should have ben filled. We had noticed that some of the walls were satin and others were matt, the radiator pipes had not been painted, the socket in the hall was covered in paint and the wires connecting the phone and modem were covered in paint, the new frame around the door had not been primed and none of the nails had been covered and I could go on with so much more.
Mark said it would have cost more to do the job than he had quoted so Jon asked him why he had quoted the price he had if he could not do it for that as we had not tried to knock him down. He did say it was not their main business which leads me to believe that they do it to fill in with their other work and basically they are cowboys! As their van was not so reliable Jon wanted to ask them if they had used the money to buy new horses!
Jon and Mark finally came to an agreement and he will return some money to us but Jon is not prepared to take down the comments he made about them on the website. I really can't believe we are in this situation. I now have to fill in holes and cracks and re paint what they have not done. As if I didn't have enough painting to do!
I am glad to say the conservatory is now looking very nice and just the skirting to do. My goodness what a hot job on some of the hottest days of the year.
We have out cottage booked for Cornwall with Jane, Jason and Riley for October which will be lovely to see all the family.
Jon tidied up the patio as we have the family coming over for paella tomorrow and I am really looking forward to cooking that shame James will not be home from Korea.
I cooked dinner, fish and posh chips and peas - yummy!
Jon and I then sat outside and enjoyed yet another lovely evening!
WEATHER
