Saturday and Sunday

Saturday
It was not a very pleasant start to the day as it was overcast and wet.

Jon and I had quite a few errands to do in Newmarket so went into town and made our way through the list. I just managed to make the post office before it closed to send the contract back to the owners in France who we are renting from. Jon picked up my parcel which was the part for the Dyson.

We then went to the EE shop and bought a new phone for me. I had a Samsung which worked perfectly well in NZ but since coming back it has been useless. I now have a Sony Experia which seems very nice and easy to use. The kind man in the shop transferred all my contact details over and I will get the girls to help me transfer all my photos tomorrow.

I had a look around for a top for Jane as she is short of clothes for breastfeeding. We found a top but not sure if she will like it.

We went into a charity shop and asked them if they would like some furniture and they said they would so he is arranging for a van to come and collect what we don't want on Tuesday. I got fed up advertising it on Facebook and people messing me around as to when they will come and collect it.

We got home and had lunch and then I started to clear out the bedroom ready for the furniture on Monday. All that is left are boxes of books belonging to Heather but I don't seem to be able to pin her down to sort them. I can see me having to put them in the loft with the rest of the things and then she will be cross. One day I think the whole loft will fall down. It is most definitely a winter sorting job, far too much junk up there still.

Jon put the new hose on the Dyson but it would not work, no suction. I had the whole thing in pieces and unblocked all the fluff that it had picked up from the new carpet. Put it all together and it still will not suck up the tube! I really hate this Dyson it is the worst cleaner I have ever had. I will need to take it to the shop on Monday and see if they can sort it but it is still under Guarantee but not sure where the receipt will be.

It put me in a very bad mood as it took up most of the afternoon.

I cooked some garlic chicken for dinner and we had potatoes and vegetables with it. Heather went over to cook dinner for Jane and Jason.

WEATHER
Heavy showers but bright later 20 degrees

Sunday

I got up and had my shower and washed my hair and did a few jobs around the house.

Jon drove Heather over to Cambridge for her office summer party and we will collect her later.

We then went out for a coffee and did some shopping for Kirsty before heading over to Mildenhall. James had set up a big screen in the garden to watch the Grand Prix. His parents were there and his nana and we had a really lovely afternoon.

James cooked a bbq after the racing and we continued to watch the men's final on the big screen which was very good. Jane and Jason arrived with Riley and we all had a lovely bbq. I had a lovely cuddle with Riley who is not looking so yellow and Jane is doing so well feeding him, she is a natural.

Unfortunately, Heather called to say she was ready to come home so Jon and I had to leave and listen to the final set on the radio.

The house where the party was held is a beautiful old house outside of Shelford and it is in beautiful grounds and very big.

We got home and Jon and I moved some of the furniture out of the living room and the rest we will have to put in the garage ready for the charity shop to come and collect it on Tuesday. I will be so glad when it is all done. I did have another two enquiries for it today but I said it had gone.

Off to bed now ready for a busy day tomorrow.

WEATHER
Cloudy and wet start then sunny, warm afternoon 22 degrees
