Monday

We had a bit of thunder last night but not much so it feels much cooler today. However, not far from us they had very heavy thunder and flooding! Jane said they had two storms through the night so I guess we were lucky.

I did my washing this morning and hung it out and we had no rain so it did dry. Jon did some work in the office and I did a bit of ironing.

We left to go and meet up with an old friend we haven't seen for 28 years! She lives in Italy and was widowed four years ago but has met up with her first boyfriend who is a Fellow at Churchill College in Cambridge and as she comes over here to work in Cambridge about once a month they are now an item - long distance.

We met at the college and went in to have lunch there as her friend had a meeting to go to which was a tele conference so he had to be on time. Her 16 year old son was with her and such a good boy and very patient to sit and listen to us oldies chatting about old times.

We left to come home about 4.00 and once home I made a cake for my friends tomorrow and we just had an omelette and salad for dinner. Heather is staying at her friend's house tonight.

We actually managed to sit down and watch a TV programme tonight, the first time I think apart from Corrie!

I seem to be having a bad bout of tummy pain again. It comes every now and again and is like a burning hunger pain even after I have eaten. They did think I might have an ulcer but I didn't have further investigation as it went away and I have been pain free for a long time but now it is back with a vengeance!

I have a Groupon voucher for a cut and style at a salon in Cambridge and have had so much trouble trying to logon to their online booking system. After trying again last night with no success I sent them an email and told them I was losing the will to live and all I wanted was my hair cut and what is wrong with the phone to make an appointment! Well, I had a phone call from the owner this morning and he kindly made my appointment on the phone! Two minutes and it was done! It wasn't just me either as Jane had tried to do it for me and hadn't been able to so it is not 'old woman syndrome'!
