Up early for a shower and hair wash as I had an appointment at the osteopath this morning to see if he can sort my back.
The painter arrived and started on the walls already. I am getting very worried as I don't think he is going to do a good job as he seems to be rushing it and hasn't filled in cracks and things the way I think he should.
The osteopath was very good and through with my medical history. He is a youngish French man and He asked me to lie on the couch and did I mind if he undid my bra! I have never been asked that by a Frenchman before! He was a gentleman and did it up again after my treatment. I did find him a little rough with the manipulation treatment compared to my lovely lady in NZ. The back massage was lovely though. I can't say I have noticed any great relief yet so hopefully it will feel better in the morning.
Jon said he had to go to Ely for his hearing aids so I went to Costa for a coffee and then did some shopping and bought some very nice sea bass for dinner. Heather is out again tonight.
Jon was home when I got back and said he had a phone call to say his hearing aids were not in yet so he is going tomorrow.
I looked at the walls in the hall and was not happy as they are using brushes and paint pads and the finish is very bad. I felt sick to my stomach. We have had such bad luck with our hall this will be the third time we have had decorators in and all three have been bad.
We had some lunch and then I popped over to see Rene and had a chat. She is doing OK but very sad at the loss of her sister.
When I got back Jon said the painters had gone for some lunch - it was 3.00! We had a look at their work and it was awful with so many brush marks and as it is satin they all look awful. They were supposed to fill in area on one wall and in the downstairs toilet where we had taken the rail off but they hadn't and it looked awful. Most of the walls were new plaster so should have been easy. the one wall which was not plastered had not been prepared and still had glue on so the pain was all rough. I could have cried.
They came back from lunch and Jon told them it was not good and they would have to sort it or we would not be paying for such a bad job and if they couldn't sort it they might as well go now. They said they could and got back to work. It now feels very uncomfortable having people in the house who you are not happy with.
I had spent all my time in the kitchen rearranging my cupboards so I kept out of the way and Jon was in the garden..
They started to clear up and asked us to check what they had done. they had put another coat on a small area of wall and said that was what it would all be like when finished. It did look much better and I would be happy. Now they just have to fill all the cracks and spaces. So we will see what happens tomorrow. At least they were smiling when they left.
Jason called round to pick up a table and a couple of chairs that we wanted to get rid of. He wants them for his granddad as he needs a little table in his living room so they have gone to a good home.
I cooked our dinner which was very good, we had it with red peppers and onion. I also cooked some celeriac chips with it and they were very tasty.
Heather came home and we all went out for out walk with Totty.
Lexi is still alive and we managed to get her to take her medicine. It took a long time for her to wake up and Heather thought she was dead but I gave her a good prod and she woke enough to take her medication.
