Another beautiful morning sunny and clear.
The first thing I had to do this morning was call the storage people and arrange delivery of our furniture for Monday which I did and it is all sorted to be delivered about 9.00. A busy day ahead.
Jane had called to ask me to pick up some things for her on my way over so I went to M&S to get what she wanted and then went over to Soham.
They were all very relaxed and just bringing baby down. Riley, as I can now call him as she has told all the family, was awake but sucking his dummy and quite happy.
Jane has not been able to get him to feed from the left side and he gets very distressed but is happy for the right side. The hospital suggested that she express milk to get things moving and to stop her getting sore so Jason had to go into Ely to buy a breast pump.
Jason is being a model daddy and has changed more nappies than Jane! He also had a load of washing out on the line at 8.00 which had dried and he brought in, folded and put another two loads out!
Jane and I sat chatting and she told me Riley slept from 1.30 - 6.00 when she changed his nappy but then he slept again till 8.00 when she fed him. He is very yellow with jaundice now and I suggested to her that she may need to wake him to feed as that was too long for him. On the other hand, I am not sure I know what I am talking about these days as everything is so different!
He fed again and I could see he was distressed at the left side but happy to go to the right and fed well.
Jason came back and brought some nice food for lunch and then I had to leave to get back for the carpet fitter. Jane looks so well and seems to be very relaxed and taking things in her stride.
I got back home and the carpet fitter was waiting but had only just arrived. He got on with the carpet and it only took him about an hour and it looks very nice.
I hadn't heard a thing from Jon since Tuesday so had no idea what time he would be home. I tried to call his mobile but there was no signal.
Abi, the beautician, arrived to do my toes. Abi went to school with Heather so I know her well and she did Jane's makeup for the wedding. First of all she did a quick tidy of my nails but no polish as I am doing too much DIY. She then did my toes with gel polish. Heather had finished work early and arrived home to have her nails done, too.
We finally got through to Jon and he had just got off the shuttle. He wanted to know what the hold up on the M11 was so I found out and told him it was an overturned lorry which had spilt a load of glue on both sides of the motorway and it was closed. I suggested the A12, long way round but better than sitting still. He said he would wait and see.
I went off to Tesco to get some bread and milk and saw some friends who have been babysitting a plant of ours for the last five years. They say I can have him - Dave - back now but he is not looking in the best of health lol!
The next time I spoke to him he was on the joining slip road to the M11 and not moving. Hmm, should have listened to the wife!! He was there for the next few hours.
The next call I had was at 8.45 and he said he didn't know where he was but would be home by 9.30. I asked him if he didn't know where he was how did he know he would be home by 9.30. He told me he was following the sat nav instructions. He walked through the door at 9.30!
We had dinner but it was too late to go and see Jane. After dinner we had a quick catch up and he went to bed as he has had very early starts down at the port in Le Harve so is tired.
WEATHER
Warm and sunny 26 degrees
