Monday

No thunder and much cooler last night.

I was up and dressed and had done a bit of housework by the time the painter arrived. He got stuck in and I left him to it. I rang to make an appointment for the hamster for 14.40.

I rang the British Heart Foundation to ask them if they would come for the bed and they told me if it was made in NZ (well it was probably made in China) they could not accept it as it would not have the British standard fire safety label on!

I decided to advertise it on Newmarket Selling Places for free and got an answer in a few minutes of a lady who wanted it but needed to sort transport. Another lady who had enquired last week when I was selling it also replied and funnily enough she now wanted it!!! I told her it was to go to the first lady but if she didn't get back to me she could have it. Fortunately she did as I would have been annoyed if the second lady got it as she did mess me about last week.

I spent the rest of the morning doing my ironing as there was not much else I could do. I did regret it later as my back is really not getting any better even using Voltarol gel and taking painkillers..

I took Lexi to the vet and she did smell a lot. But when we got there she was much more lively and was running around the table. They gave me some antibiotics for seven days but said if she looks like she is suffering then to take her and they will euthanize her.

I got home and started sorting all my cookery books as Jon has put some new shelves up in the utility. I have now emptied all the boxes. I just have one full of my plastic food containers which I will start filling with my cooking ingredients. I have so many as I had everything in plastic boxes to keep the mouse out!

We had the curry for dinner tonight so nice and easy just rice to prepare. The decorator left but he is a bit messy but did say he would bring a vacuum cleaner with him tomorrow. I hope he makes a good job of it as all the people we have had have been good and I don't ant any bad feelings.

The young lady came to collect the bed with her mum and step dad, I think. She was really happy with the bed and she looked like she didn't have much so it has gone to a good home.

After dinner Jon, Heather and I went out to walk the dog. I then ironed my sheets and made the bed.

The house is looking better now and once the hall is finished I hope my back will be better and then I can get on with the rest of it. It would be nice to have the curtains up again.

WEATHER
Warm and humid 24c
