Earthquake in NZ

As soon as I logged on I saw a message from my cousin asking if we were OK so I went on the TV website and read about the earthquake, pretty bad. We put the TV on and it was all day coverage pretty much. People have had some amazing escapes. Like walking out of their door and into a hole!!! Feels very strange being in a country where there has been a major quake. All children do tsunami and earthquake drills at school so are very aware. However, some of the children are very upset.

We waited to see if Jane called as she said she might but as she didn't we took the dog out.

We went into Tauranga and had a coffee and sitting in the sun was really warm but out of it there was a definite chill.

Bought Jon some short sleeved shirts that he needs for work. Went up to Greerton to check out a pub I had heard about for dinner tonight before the theatre. The menu looks fine but we had to book a table as there is a big rugby match on but we will be finished before it starts.

Got back and heated the soup I had taken from the freezer for lunch.

Jon washed the deck and chairs and table and I did the bit of ironing I had.

We had an early cuppa as we are going out for an early dinner and then we took Totty out for her walk.

We got ready and went out to the pub, nice dinner, pretty good for pub grub.

Got to the theatre on 17th Avenue, one we have not been to before. Funny little place just like a hall with long tables seating 16. We were at the back end of a table looking at the stage with other people down either side, very odd set up. Cabaret started and I knew within five minutes that I was not going to like it, I didn't like the film so don't know why I thought I would like the musical. The acting was pretty bad, there was a girl on the next table who kept screaming and shouting out, not sure why she thought she needed to behave like that but it was very annoying. The girl who played Sally Boyles was trying tooooooo hard to be tooooooo English. We were glad when the interval came and we left. I don't think we will go to see anything at that theatre again, the Boys College do better.

Saw on the news they are having some pretty bad aftershocks in the Christchurch area.

WEATHER

A cold wind first thing but very warm in the sun 16 degrees
