We all managed to get up, eventually and shower and have breakfast. Jon and I got out for a walk with Tot and once we got back managed to get everyone moving and we finally set off at 9.45. Heather had been up very early to get her boot camp results she had to be assessed and was very happy with the results and has lost inches and gained muscle and is now on a level 4 for fitness having started on a "
We arrived at the luge and went up in the gondola. Jason is afraid of heights and so was a little nervous but I have to take my hat off to him he did really well.
Once at the top we had a coffee and then went off to fit ourselves with hats which was a difficult job!
We had our first run and stopped for photos and I managed to keep up with everyone and we all made it down together. Our next step was to go up on the chairlift and poor Jason was indeed very nervous but he did it and I was so pleased for him as I know only too well how scary it is.
We all got back and Jason was happy to go again. We all went on the intermediate run but they all left me well behind. Once all down I waited at the bottom as I only had one more run to go and they all went up and soon came back down on the advanced run. As it was getting late we decided one more would be enough and it was all great fun.
We set off from the luge to go to Paradise Springs Valley Park which is a small zoo/animal park. I thought it was very nice but they all thought it was a bit lame but I keep telling them to remember where they are - they don't do 'big' in NZ!
They have a large pride of lions there and all look healthy and well fed but all have been born there and so know nothing else but we all felt the enclosure was too small. apart from the lions it was mostly ducks and wild fowl, sheep, goats, deer, a pony, a donkey and a very nice walk through bush and above the canopy looking down on the trees and river with lots of trout. All in all very pretty.
We finally set off home and stopped in the supermarket to buy meat for a BBQ.
we got home at 6.00 poor Tot.
Jon cooked the BBQ and we all had a nice night but were very tired. Jane and Jason went to bed early and Heather not long after.
