Moving house is going to be difficult!

All mad rush this morning for me to make sure the house was tidy before I went to work as the estate agent was coming round later. I managed to do everything and hang the washing out and get the dog walked.

When I got to the shop Les, as I knew she would be, was in a real state about the state of the shop and how untidy it was and what a mess Lisa, the new manager, had made of the changeover and I have to agree she is right but why she is in such a state over it is beyond me, she is only a volunteer just as I am and is not getting paid for working there the extra hours that she does and I am afraid I am running out of patience with her.

I had to leave to go to see the gynaecologist at 9.30 so I was only there for half an hour. I was seen early and as another patch of VIN has grown he did a biopsy - ouch. He thinks it is only Grade 1 so nothing to worry about. I will need to go back and see him in a month so fingers crossed.

I picked up some coffees for Les and I on the way back and she had calmed down a little. We worked so hard for the rest of the morning putting new stock out and sorting what had been put out. I did all the children's and Les did all the menswear so at least two areas are completed. The problem was the shop was also very busy as we now have so much new stuff in and we must have taken a lot of money this morning.

We used to be able to take things home on approval but the new manager has stopped it so we either have to pay for it and then try it on at home or find time to try it in the shop so that is what I did at the end of my shift and I bought a lovely pair of black trousers for $10 minus my discount so about £4. I will need to have them shortened but they are still worth it.

I got home and made a sandwich and then just made sure the house was ready. The agent called and I was expecting her to be totally on Seleena's side but surprisingly she totally sympathised with our situation and said Seleena ought to be more reasonable and release us from the lease so that we can start looking straight away. She was extremely nice and e got on very well. She had tried to market the house three years ago so knew the house and said she didn't need to look around as she could see it was all fine. She said she would also have a word with Seleena and see if anything could be done. The next thing is all the staff from the other branches that bring buyers round will come on Tuesday morning to make sure they know what it looks like in case they take a call. After that she said she could bring people round when we are away but I told her that would not be possible as I do not know if the dog would let them in and I don't like the idea of it. They will have to make arrangements with Heather for when she is home. It is all so difficult with us going away.

She also told me of  a house just up the road from here that is up for rent but it is unfurnished. She then told me it was long term rent and that it belonged to her daughter who has just moved to Australia and she was looking for reliable people to let it to. She told me to go along at 5.00 as her husband would be there to have a look.

I called Jon and told him and he is not impressed with Seleena's attitude.

I went along to look at the house and it is very nice. It is older than this one but on the whole very nice with a nice garden and very nice views from the front. The only problem is the back faces the bypass and although it is not like a UK road it does have its busy times but I didn't think it sounded too bad. They say they would be able to wait if we did want it until end of October but it depends on us being allowed to get out of the lease. She had phoned Seleena after speaking to me and told her that she was not being fair to us but it looks like she is not going to budge.

Jon came home and told me that Genera will sort out furniture for us as it is in his contract but not sure what their 'sort out' will be. I just hope it is not a trip to the Sallies!!!

We have sent an email to Seleena telling her the company does not want to buy the house and that we will be staying till 10 January as we do not want to move out the week before Christmas. If someone wants to buy it they will have to wait until then, hopefully she will see sense.

Heather went out with Emma and Lisa tonight and Jon and I went to Number 8 a restaurant down at the Mount and I had bought a Grab One deal of two mains for the price of one. We had a really lovely meal there but I had to ask them to wrap up half my salmon as I was so full but the chocolate mousse was delicious.

We then went to have a drink with Heather, Lisa and Emma before coming home at 11.30 - a very late night for NZ!
