A horrible day

I was up with the birds this morning to get the house looking as good as I could with all the cases and clothes around the place and I was out walking Tot at 8.00.

I couldn't hang my washing out as the photographer was coming. At about 8.40 the first of the reps arrived and then suddenly more came along and then there were about 15 of them. Of course, Totty was by this time going mad. They then all started to wander around the house making comments on how nice it is etc and they all left their cards on the kitchen work surface. Had I not been so angry about it all I would have laughed as it was funny to see all these smartly dressed estate agents wandering in and out.

In the middle of it all the phone rang and it was a lady to say she had some books to be collected for the Lions book sale. Trying to hold the dog and the phone and write her number down was very difficult but I did manage and said I would call her back.

Once the reps had all left, these are the people from other branches who might want to show somebody around so need to see it first. You don't just have one person to deal with here you get the whole company!!! The photographer arrived and started to rush around taking photos as she only had about eight minutes before I had to leave for my class. One of the agents stayed and went around with her moving things out of the way which I was not impressed with. It is all so intrusive.

I said I had to go and they needed to finish and I think they just about got it all done. The agent said one of the reps wanted to bring somebody to view tonight but I had a Lions dinner meeting and said I would have to see if Jon was home and would let them know.

I went off to my class in a real flap and made it just as it started. The teacher spoke to me after the class as she said I looked upset when I came in so I told her what was happening and she was very kind and gave me a hug which was nice. I sat and had a coffee with the other ladies and they all say I should stick to my guns and refuse 'open house' so I will.

Got back and showered and washed my hair, hung the washing out and spent far too much time looking for a house on the Internet when I should be packing and ironing.

Jon and Heather came home and we had lunch and they both say they are going to the gym so can't let anyone view.

I went out to get my nails done from my 'one day' voucher. It said a Shellac manicure and I had no idea what it is. Turns out to be a special varnish that stays on for about a month and doesn't chip, dries quickly and you can paint over it but you mut use non acetone remover to get the varnish off. To get the Shellac off you go back to the salon. I must say they look lovely and shiny and lots of people commented on them tonight. I was a bit upset I didn't get mu hand and arm massage though as she ran out of time as they only had me booked for a normal manicure. I will be very pleased if it stays on for all of our trip.

I got back much later than I thought and fed Tot and took her out. Sue, the main estate agent called and I told her nobody would be in but I said they can come tomorrow morning at 11.00 and at least that is to my liking not there's. I also told her we did not want her daughter's house as her husband, he showed the photographer around this morning, told me there is no heating in it and I really don't fancy that. We would have to use electric radiators and they are expensive to run. Shame really as I liked the house and the garden but we are not in a position to pay the rent on two houses for eight weeks and why should we have to??

I went to Lions and we had another lovely dinner, roast pork and/or vegetarian lasagne and it was soo good. My Tail Twister bit seemed to go well again and everyone enjoyed it.

Got home and Heather has sorted out our trip to Brisbane for January. It is just the two of us going over for four days before she goes home which will be fun as I haven't been to Surfer's Paradise. I quite fancy going to have a look at the lovely hotel they use in 'I'm a Celebrity'.

Well I have a very busy day tomorrow as I have spent too much time looking for houses and I need to get my ironing up to date before we go and get the packing done and folding all those shirts is going to take forever!!

WEATHER
I think it was sunny and warm but too busy to stop and notice much!
