The clocks went forward.

The clocks went forward last night and when I got up this morning, Jon was still in bed, I didn't know what time it was as he had changed some clocks and my computer was telling the wrong time so I was in a bit of a muddle.

The day always goes very fast when the clocks change and before we knew it it was time to go for a coffee. We went up to Greerton to see the cherry blossom trees but the weather was dull and the trees not quite out fully. We had a coffee and it started to drizzle and just as we got home it started to pour with rain and did so for the next few hours.

The house always feels cold when there is no sun so we lit the fire. We have been sorting clothes out to go away and then we had a late lunch.

Heather and I went to the supermarket to get some stores in for when we are away. I also went and bought a small cabin suitcase for Jon and a bag on wheels for me. As Jon needs to take his suit and lots of shirts for the conference we are worried about luggage and this way we can have an extra seven kilograms which will help with the internal flights.

While in the supermarket I asked Heather to go and see if there were any labels as I need to start labeling my food in the freezer as I never know what it is. She came back with a very elaborate label maker, not what I intended but as I had a $30 voucher I bought it so hopefully when I intend to take chicken out it will be chicken and not lamb as happened last night!!

Got back and had a cuppa and then settled to watch Ireland v Russia and Ireland did very well, our neighbour took his two eldest to see the game in Rotorua and I am glad the rain had stopped by the time it started.

I could have fallen asleep but Jon said we should take the dog out. I was confused with the time as it is so much lighter.

I made dinner and after dinner I cleared the fridge out as there was a horrible smell. I couldn't find anything but the smell had gone. I started to wrap the pork and sausages that I bought earlier into portions for Heather and I could smell a horrible smell. When I opened the chicken breasts it was unbearable!!!! I have never smelt anything like it and I quickly put them down the waste disposal gagging all the time and then had to pour disinfectant down ugh. It was free range chicken and when I looked at the date it was sell by today so should not have been off. I am glad I was separating it as I could have just frozen it on the tray as it was. I have kept the tray and label and I am going to take it back as it was not cheap and in fact, it probably should have been reduced before today and sold quickly, watch this space.

We all feel the effects of one less hour of sleep so are having an early night. Still nothing from Seleena about the house!!

WEATHER
A cold and wet day 14 degrees
