Very loud thunder through the night but a good sleep.
We had a good breakfast at the hotel before setting off to walk to the Vector Arena just along the road and Katharine was surprised but she hadn't heard of the show so it was probably not as big a surprise as Heather would have liked.
We had good seat and although high up the dinosaurs were really big and we had no problem seeing anything. It was a really good show and I was glad we went.
We walked back to hotel to get the car and set off back to Tauranga. We stopped for lunch at Pokeno where we enjoyed one of the lovely, fresh, carved ham sandwiches and Katharine had a McDonald's. We then went to the next door bar and had a coffee and a delicious chocolate cake and cream before setting off again.
As journeys go it was pretty uneventful and we managed to miss the forecast showers. We were driving down over the Kaimais, a really bendy road when Jon got caught for speeding oops $30 got off for good behaviour!!! He was 10k over the limit but the policeman was very friendly and they had a bit of a joke and he got his first ever speeding ticket. I am sure the paperwork was more than the fine was worth.
Of course, the reason we were going a bit fast was to get Tot from Kennels before it closed but we couldn't tell the policeman that. We did manage to get back in time for Tot.
We had to pop out to the supermarket to get something for dinner which was a bit of a pain. Jon was very glad to get back into his own bed and had an early night.
I stayed up to watch the netball on TV!!! Yes, netball!!! It was NZ v Oz and a really good game but NZ were beaten in the last seconds which was a shame but very exciting.
WEATHER
A few showers but mostly bright 15 degrees
