We woke to a lovely sunny day and it is days like this that make living in NZ so special, sun and clear skies in winter.
After breakfast and Jon watching the F1 practice rounds we took Tot for her walk. As my leg is so much better we went to the park and we met Peter. We stood chatting and heard a huge commotion in a garden that backs onto the park and it sounded like a dog was attacking one of the children. The dad came out shouting and carrying on and the dog was whimpering and the child crying so not sure what went on.
We got home and then Jon and I went out for coffee. Our local garden centre appears to have closed down so I took Jon to a cafe/garden centre that he had not been to before. It was such a lovely day and we sat outside for our coffee and we had to take off our jumpers as it was so warm - bliss. I phoned Heather as she wanted some things from the supermarket as she was going to do some baking to take to Michelle who has just moved into her new house. I phoned 'home' on my mobile but did not get a good connection and then lost the signal. Jon tried on his phone but it was engaged so we went along to the next garden centre to find the crushed shells we use for the few bit in the bit of garden we have and then tried again. I got Heather and she told me she was speaking to Kirsty on the land line. Kirsty had phoned as she was worried as she had heard my voice but nothing more so called NZ. I then realised that I had called 'home' thinking it was NZ home but in actual fact it was Newmarket home!!! Oh dear, I woke them up!!
We got home and I helped Heather with her baking and made lunch for Jon and I. When Heather had left I sat down for a few minutes before tackling the mound of dishes left from Heather's preparations. She had done half of them so goodness knows what it was like before we got home.
I enjoyed watching Dancing on Ice this afternoon while Jon was pottering in the garden and I managed to get some photos into an album of Sydney Light Festival.
I cooked roast pork for dinner but it is not my favorite but not bad.
After dinner I started to play on our the iPad and it is so good. I am going to learn Chinese in time for our trip away in October.
