Heather had to scrape the ice of her car this morning and was not happy that we had no de-icer!! It was very cold when I was hanging my washing out but hopefully it will dry.
I spent the morning getting ready for my first Lions meeting as Tail Twister. I have sorted some jokes and things to do so hopefully it will go well.
I took Tot out after the binmen had done their rounds. My leg is still too bad to exercise so I have made an appointment to see the physio tomorrow.
I called Les to say I could meet her for coffee tomorrow but that I was not able to go swimming. She was very upset as her daughter had told her that it was not convenient for her to move back home. Les has been housesitting for our friend Carol while she has been in Sydney looking after her grandson. She is due back this week so Les was going to go back home. She is so upset and quite rightly so. She does not know what she is going to do. Carol has said she can stay on with her but she feels bad about it. I hope none of our girls ever do that to Jon and I.
Jon and Heather came home for lunch and then when they went back I got stuck in to my ironing and then Bronwyn called and we chatted for an hour then just as I put the phone down Janice called and we chatted for half an hour. I then had to rush to feed the dog, light the fire and get ready to go to Lions.
Heather came home and I asked her to walk Tot for me and off I went. The dinner was really good again with lovely puddings. One of our ladies is now on the area committee and gave a presentation about next year's conference and then another one of our members had been asked to talk about her role as a football umpire. This lady is a GP but I find her very boring and she takes forever to ask questions and is sometimes hard to shut up. Well tonight she surpassed herself. She should have talked for 15-20 minutes and that would have been bad enough but she went on for over an hour!!!! We were all nearly falling off our chairs. She showed us her socks, gloves, boots, shirts, shorts, TWO whistles and so it went on even her pencil and her coin she uses to toss. I have never been so bored in my life. Two ladies got up at 9.00 as they had to go but still she carried on. Eventually the lady who was to give the vote of thanks got up and walked to the front but still she wanted to carry on. The result of all that was I had very little time to do my bit so it will have to wait till next time. Janice and I were near hysterical on the way home.
Heather was in bed by the time I got back, Jon said she didn't feel well, she was asleep so I didn't speak to her.
