Another lovely sunny day here today and I was out with Tot for her walk very early as I had to take Katharine over to the office to meet Heather who had gone in to finish off some work before they left for Wellington.
I popped into Bayfair on my way back and bought the envelopes I need and posted a card to Jane. I also collected my new contact lens and of course went for a coffee.
The house will be quiet today and tomorrow as it is just me and Tot. I had a whole pile of parcels and cards I needed to get into the post so got them sorted and ready to go.
I did a lot of washing and changed our bed and put the winter duvet on so I should be very cosy tonight. I did my cleaning and had lunch so a very busy morning.
I went out to Briscoes to buy a new casserole dish as the lid of mine exploded in the dishwasher last night. Not sure what caused that to happen. Anyway I now have a new one plus a new chopping board as I have been using a silly little one since we arrived and kept saying I would get a bigger one and as it was half price it was a bargain. I also bought a plain white tablecloth which is micro fibre and says you can just wipe drips of it - watch this space!!
I went to the council office to pay for Tot's registration and then to buy tickets for Viv, Margaret, Sharon, Les and me to see Tarnished Frocks and Divas. It is a show put on every two years for breast cancer and Bronwyn is one of the stage managers. Alison and I went last year but she doesn't want to go this year. They are holding it in a winery this year which should be nice.
Jon called from Auckland airport and left a message for me to get Rugby World Cup tickets as he hadn't been able to. I booked for us to go and see Wales v Samoa on 18 Sept in Hamilton. The England games are in the South Island and the one in Auckland is 'silly' money. This should be a good game and at least we won't have to stay overnight as it starts at 3.30 and is only just over an hour away. Heather might go with Lisa to see the NZ v Japan game in Hamilton but that is the same night as Tarnished Frocks so I couldn't go to that one. The big games in Auckland are very expensive - nearly £200 and I am not paying that for a game of rugby!
It was really warm outside and so all my washing was just about dry when I brought it in even the jeans.
I took Tot out and then did my ironing. Heather called to say they had a bumpy landing but that is usual for Wellington.
I made my dinner and watched TV. I was made a cup of coffee and must have nodded off holding it and the next thing I felt was coffee being poured over my tummy, not much but I felt it and it does smell!!! Jon called at 10.20 to say he was in Melbourne and on the way to his hotel but it is two hours behind there so he is going to have a long day!
WEATHER
Warm and sunny 17 degrees
