Red Coss Day

It was definitely a bit cold this morning but it could have been due to not having the fire lit last night.

I couldn't take Tot out as we had a heavy shower so left a note for Heather to take her later.

Had a good morning at the shop and I sorted out the children's racks again. I don't understand how the other staff can leave them in such a mess!

I left the shop on time as I had to get down to the Mount for my hair appointment at 1.00. Unfortunately, there was a big fire in a warehouse down near the port and I had to do a detour around it so it took me longer. The fire started last night but it was still belching out lots of smoke and it smelt awful. The warehouse was full of palm nut kernels that are used for cattle feed and imported from Asia.

My hair only took 40 minutes so I was home by 2.00 and very hungry. Heather and Katharine had had a lazy morning but had taken Tot out. They left to go to the shops and so I was able to sort out my things for Auckland tomorrow in peace.

Tot has a really itchy tummy and is dragging herself along the carpet to scratch it and it is looking really red so I took her to the vet and he gave her an injection so hopefully it will sort it out. Got back and took her for a quick walk in between showers. The whole country has had really wintry weather today and the south island had its first dumping of snow so the ski fields will be busy this weekend.

Jon left a message on the answerphone to say he had arrived in Auckland and would meet us tomorrow at the airport.

Heather brought the fish and chips in with her and we had dinner.

I gave my friend Sonia a quick call to congratulate her son on his degree, he got a first so she is very happy and rightly so.

I need to get off to bed now as I have an early start tomorrow and need to get Tot to kennels by 8.00!!

WEATHER
Sunny spells with heavy showers 15 degrees
