A really lovely spring day

We had run out of wood so Jon had to chop wood first thing this morning and so I cleaned the oven as the chocolate pudding I made last night dripped over the dish and made a big, smelly mess!

We too Totty out for a walk down to Rotary park and it was really lovely down there again.

We went for coffee to the Swiss Chalet at downtown the Mount. They do lovely Danish Pastries which make a change from muffins so we shared one of those. Jon was looking at the breakfasts coming out and really fancies one so we will come down one weekend and try it.

The rain jacket I bought last week was difficult to zip up so we took it back and they changed it. We looked in so many shops for hat and scarf we didn't know where we had been and which we finally liked. We got a hat with NZ on it and then Jon decided on one of the possum scarves and I told him to try it on as some people don't like the feel. Just as well I did cos he didn't. At least we can rule possum out.

We then went to Bayfair shopping centre and I found a really sweet little jug for cream in the sale for $2. I love jugs. We then went into a man's clothing shop and I spotted a black and white stripped scarf which was perfect so we are all kitted out for the snow now.

Went to the supermarket to get some cloves and feta cheese for the stuffado recipe I am cooking for tonight.

It was nearly 2.00 by the time we got home for lunch and we were starving so I quickly made some scrambled eggs on toast.

Had a nice afternoon reading the papers and cooked the casserole which takes four hours in a low oven.

Had a cup of tea and a piece of the very nice chocolate cake I made on Friday, I will have to freeze some of it or it will be stale by the time we get to the end of it.We went for a walk with Tot and saw Bronwyn on the way back. she is doing a baby funeral tomorrow, the first baby she has ever done. It is very sad the baby was eight months and died of a cot death.

We had dinner which was very good the feta added at the last minute was really good and made it very rich.

We watched TV and then Jon went to bed and I started to watch Fat Doctor. It was a programme on overweight people and the operations they have, this woman weighted 30 stone but was down to 20 at the end of the programme. It is hard to imagine how you could get up to 30 stone.

WEATHER
Sunny and warm all day 17 degrees
