Hospital day

I was up very early as I had to have breakfast before 7.00 and then could only have clear fluids till 10.00 then nothing else, not that I was hungry anyway.

Heather phoned and that passed nearly an hour away and then I took Totty out for her walk and got caught in a shower and had to shelter in the park.

I had noticed the window in the downstairs bathroom, which we don't use, was rather mouldy so decided to give it a scrub. We have so much condensation in this house and in fact most Kiwi houses have the same problem.

I was just about ready to leave when Jon came home at 12.00 and I was very nervous. We arrived at the hospital and the receptionist said I was second to last to go down so I knew I was in for quite a wait. I saw the same nurse as last time for check in and then put my gown on and then to the waiting room.

I saw the anaesthetist at 3.20 and went down after that. Last time I just had to breath some oxygen and they put the anaesthetic in but this time it seemed to take ages and I was getting in a panic with the mask over my face and then I was out.

I came to in ICU and felt so mush sleepier than I did last time and they were doing the usual observation like temp and bp. The registrar popped in to say she would see me in two weeks. I was eventually taken to recovery and she told me it was 5.30!!!! They gave me a cup of tea and I eventually called Jon to come and get me and that was at 6.10. The nurse explained that I had been given a deep anaesthetic as they had not wanted to use any local on the 'area' and that was why I felt so sleepy. She took the drip out of my arm and I was ready to wobble down to the car.

We got home and Jon heated the chilli I had taken out and cooked rice and made a salad but I wasn't very hungry. I watched Coronation Street and then I had to go to bed as I was so tired.

WEATHER
Sunny spells and few showers. 17 degrees
