We had to go and sort out an account at the bank today so Jon came back and took me into Tauranga at 10.00. We found the back no problem and sorted out the paperwork. We had to park the car on a meter and as we had no coins we had to pay on a card! It would only allow half an hour so when Jon had finished he ran out to check. There was no ticket on the cat but a white chalk mark on the wheel so we are not sure if we have been booked or not. We got some more keys cut for the house, as we only had one, and went to the council to sort out rubbish collection.
You can buy bags at the supermarket and then leave them out for collection by the council on Thursdays, not sure yet how much the bags are or you can pay $200 a year and you get a green bin and a recycle box that you leave out every Tuesday, we'll have to do the sums on that one.
When we got back from the bank I met my neighbour and her husband. She is called Kim and is a teacher and he is called Brett, I think she said, and he works from home on the three days she goes out to work. They have three children- a girl of about 7 a boy of 4 and a baby girl of about 15 months or so, just walking. They seem very nice but she will be back at school in three weeks so I will need to meet more neighbours soon.
Jon has now gone back to work and I am just doing what I want. We'll go out for a walk or a drive when he gets home as long as the storms hold off. The weather has been very changeable but always hot.
