Chatting with my neighbour

As I walked up the drive I saw my neighbour, Kim, outside her house and I asked her about registering with a doctor. She told me she had been with one in the Mount but they kept her waiting two hours every appointment and with three young children she found that a bit much. That never happens at the Rookery (for those of you who don't know that is the medical centre where I worked). She has now changed to one on Fifth Avenue in Tauranga which she says is very good so we'll give that one a go. I had a nice chat to her and she told me the names of all the neighbours and said I would soon find them all very friendly. Sadly, Janet who lives in front of me lost her 21 year old son in a road accident yesterday so she is very upset. I think the son lived with his father, she also has eight year old twin girls. It must be dreadful for her.

Kim is from Auckland and her parents have a holiday beach home on the Mount so that is where she goes a lot with the children. She seems very nice and has told me they will look after Totty any time I want if we go away. She hasn't met her yet, she may not be so keen when she does. Quite a positive morning all in all.
