Wow! We both slept so well last night we needed the alarm to wake us up, that must be a good sign.
I received a Skype call from Rob and Bina Hicks while we were having breakfast. Rob's microphone was not working too well but we managed to hold a conversation which was nice.
Jon went off to work and I took the dog out. The lady across the road was doing her front garden and so I walked over to introduce myself. She is called Alison and is about 65ish. Her children are grown up and she has lived in Maungatapu for 29 years. She was very chatty and said she would invite me over for a cup of tea and ask her other neighbour in, too, something to look forward to. She was in the UK 18 months ago and stayed in Ely and Cambridge so knows a bit about E Anglia.
I am starting to recognise people who take a morning walk now and they say hello to me. We walk around the block to the Te Whati park across to the the other side and out the other way and then back home which is enough when it is hot and suits Totty.
Back in the house now and more box sorting, most of the clothes need ironing so guess what I'm, going to be doing today!
Glad to hear things are settling down, sounds like your meeting loads of English people, are there any new Zealanders there!!
