Never believe a waitress when she says coffee is decaffeinated unless you see the jar! I know I have been sleeping a lot lately but last night was awful. I just didn't seem to close my eyes until past four o'clock.
We had planned to get up early today anyway and visit the bird gardens before it got too hot. I'm looking forward to being tired on the plane and hopefully will be able to sleep most of the way again.
After breakfast we made our way to the underground station, bought our tickets which were about 60p for both of us! It was rush hour and the train was packed but so clean. It was five stops and it took us ten minutes. When we got out of the station we decided to get a taxi as although it was not far it all seemed to be across main roads and bridges and uphill and the taxi driver told us all about the buildings we passed which was nice. The park was lovely and we arrived just as it was opening, a first for the Trevennas. There were so many wonderful birds flying about and beautiful plants to look at. When we had finished in the park we walked across the road to the orchid gardens and they were a real treat. Although not the main orchid season there were many to see, some really tiny and others really huge. By this time it was getting really hot so it was into another taxi and back to the hotel where I am just about to go for a swim before lunch, a shower and then off to the airport for the last leg.
