I can hardly believe we are now having to rely on the alarm to wake us, that's good.
It's another lovely morning, the weather seems to have settled down now and it is lovely and mild. I had my bed made and washing in the machine and everywhere tidy by 9.00 this morning. I was not going to get caught out again!
Jon called the girls to see if they had Internet yet and James was just fixing it up. Heather came online and we made our first call. It was lovely to see them, I see the small table between the two armchairs has been changed for a small beer fridge! We had a nice chat and I saw the cat and they saw the dog and I took them for a walk around the house.
After talking to the girls I took Totty out for her walk and we played ball in the park. When I got back my washing was ready to hang out. Rewa called me back to say it was fine to change my appointment to 2.00 for my nails.
My friend from Spain called me on Skype and we had a long talk - an hour and a half!!
Jon came home from work and while he was here we rang the bank as we still have no cash card or pin number and we will soon need to get some money. Seems like the cards may have been lost in the post and so they are going to send new ones to the branch! Unlucky or what?
Jon went back to work and I went to have my nails done, I hope Totty doesn't bark all the time I'm out. I left her looking through the glass panel at the side of the front door.
Rewa is very nice and we had a good natter while she was doing my nails. She said my hands were very soft not like NZ women who have quite rough hands because of all the sun she says.
I was finished by 2.45 and went along to Alison's. Her neighbour, Bronwyn Anne, came round and we had a good old chin wag. Bronwyn's husband is Scottish and is a retired sea captain who worked for Shell and they have travelled quite a lot having lived in India, Sudan and Singapore to name but a few and she said he would be interested to chat to Jon who has also worked in those places. We had a lovely afternoon and Bronwyn said she will take me round a few surgeries next week so I can chose who we register with. At 4.30 I thought it time to get back to Totty and Bronwyn and Alison asked me if I would like to walk round the Mount with them next Tuesday morning. Bronwyn suggested 7.00!!!!! as it gets hot but I said I couldn't make it until 8.00 so we agreed on 8.00. They also told me about the very big cockroaches they have here which won't hurt but do look pretty nasty. Alison said the best thing to do is catch them in a jar and put them outside. Bronwyn also told me of the white tail spiders which can give a nasty bite so I will be looking out for them. Alison has a really lovely garden with some lovely areas to sit in.
When I was walking back up the drive one of my neighbours was just coming in in her car and I could see Totty at the front door barking so I am not sure if she had been there barking all the time or only when she heard the car. I will try and see Kim and ask her if she heard her. I do hope she didn't bark all the time, that won't be good if she did.
Jon is due home soon and we will take Totty out to the park and then have dinner.
