Lots and lots of overnight rain with lots of thunder. The one and only time I am happy that Totty is now deaf!!
I was woken lots of times last night by Totty and the thunder and rain which went on and on. Reading the papers online we got off lightly as there was so much damage and flooding and not so far from here, the bonus of living on a hill!!
We went out for breakfast as I had not bought any cereal for Jon. Problem was, not many places open on Good Friday for breakfast but we did eventually find a café open. Jon had the full works and I had toast and jam but all very nice.
We then went home and got stuck in to packing and sorting. I also took compost from the troughs and took it down the garden to get rid of - seven trips later and one trough empty. Hard work but Jon cannot do it and it needs to be done.
I did a few bits around the house in-between showers and clearing the troughs but my hair looked like Shirley Temple by the end of it all!!
Jon decided we should go out for coffee so off again to find a café open. We found a nice French café and had a coffee before coming home and more packing. so difficult to know what to pack and how much space we will have.
I made us some lunch about 2.00 and enjoyed a rest and a quick TV programme before getting back to it.
Jon needed some of the wipes he uses to get his bag off and to protect the skin. He has to order every week and this week the lady rang to say they were out of stock of his bag but would send the rest of what he ordered. Well, of course, Easter and no delivery so no stock arrived and Jon only remembered this morning!!
I rang the district nurse and arranged to collect some wipes from their office at 5.00 this afternoon.
We spent the rest of our time sorting, packing and cleaning. I am not very good at packing when the house is in a mess so I needed to sort that out first and felt much better once it was done and all tidy.
We now have two suitcases packed and have managed to get a lot in.We now need to slow down and wait and see what the packers can take before packing anymore.
I made some coconut curry with prawns for dinner and then we chatted about how things have been her in NZ.
Jon went to bed and I came in to do my blog and now I need to go to bed, too. Hopefully, the weather will be better tomorrow and we can go out.
Too tired to type more now so off to bed.
WEATHER
Heavy showers with sunny spells 23 degrees.
