It poured with rain overnight and this morning and finally stopped about 2.00 but was still cloudy. Apparently, we had 60mm in Tauranga so the farmers will be happy. I just hope it is dry for tomorrow!
I went to the Red Cross and took my chance by parking at the side of the shop as it was raining so hard. Last time I did that I got a ticket and that was a very wet day, too.
It was only Sharon and I this morning as Lara has a fractured bone in her foot and Les did not turn up.
Sharon had a meeting in the office with Noeleen, the manager, and so I was left on my own not that it was busy so the rain was good for something!
There is a horrible smell in the shop at the moment and the landlord is coming in to find it. I hope he finds it soon as it is absolutely horrible.
I was given my five year certificate today from Red Cross which is nice to have. Noeleen told Sharon to take me out for morning tea and as it was so wet we just went to the café a few doors down. I prefer the one across the road but the rain was bouncing off the road and walking down the street is all under canopies.
Back to work and the rest of the morning went over very fast. I did find a few nice things, well, it was my last day!
I left at 1.00 and went to the supermarket to do the shopping for the bbq tomorrow. Not really sure how many are coming but I have bought enough for 25 and more people are just coming for a drink. I am sure I will have enough.
Back home and I was so hungry but arrived at the same time as the district nurse who came to do Jon's dressing. I put the shopping away and she was finished when it was all away so I could have my lunch.
Jon had to go into the office and then he went to the airport to pick up the travel crate for Totty. All her papers say 'Toffee"! She seems quite happy to go inside so I just hope she continues to like it. I will try and get her to sleep in it tonight and see what happens.
I made a Tirimusu as I had a packet of mascarpone but then I had egg whites left so had to make a Pavlova. At least I know I have two puddings so if everyone brings salads tomorrow it will be fine.
Jon went out for our fish and chips which were really good tonight.
We watched some TV and now I am off to bed.
This time in two weeks I will be feeling very nervous and probably quite sad.
WEATHER
Heavy rain most of the day 22 degrees.
