What a lovely morning and not so cold today. I was on my way to the supermarket just after eight this morning as I needed bananas and yoghurt for Jon for lunch. I got caught in the rush hour traffic, a new thing for me as I am not usually out that early.
Can you believe the supermarket had no bananas. They said they had not had the delivery yet!!
I got back home just before nine and Jon had had his breakfast so I had mine and then had a nice surprise as we had a phone call from Kirsty. She said she has had a lot of stress from work and has had to bring work home with her as she has been so busy.
We had a nice catch up and she told me that James has had a promotion at work and well deserved and long overdue I say. Things are still on-going with the house but that is because they need to get some papers filled in but the issue with the roof is still not sorted.
We had a good catch up and then I put her over to Jon as I needed to get ready to pick Margaret up at 10.00.
I left the house and went for Margaret and we went to the cinema. I asked for one ticket to Saving Mr Banks and she only charged me $9 - pensioners rates!! I think I must have aged in the last two weeks - I blame Jon!
When we got inside there was a friend from Lions there with two of her friends who know Margaret. One of them asked Margaret if I was her daughter!! Lol! I don't think Margaret was impressed and especially as I had just paid pensioner rates to get in!!
The film was really good and we all enjoyed it. I thought it would be funny but I cried more than in the Book Thief and the Railway Man. I didn't know the author was Australian, you learn something new everyday!!
We drove home and I dropped Margaret off and I came home. Joe, from Oz was still here and it was lovely to see him again. He was chatting to Jon about potential work when Jon gets back to UK. He lives in Perth and after spending tonight with his brother in Auckland flies back there tomorrow. He is such a nice person.
He left after two o'clock and I felt bad that I didn't ask him if he wanted some lunch, too late now!
I sat and read my book in the afternoon and Jon sat on the deck in the sun. So nice out there when the wind drops.
We didn't do much else after that. Had a cuppa and then later I mad dinner and we watched TV.
I did more knitting but each time I do it my hands aches more and more - a real labour of love this is!
WEATHER
