Saturday

It was supposed to rain today but from the start it looked like a lovely day and the rain never came!

We went into Tauranga in the morning and sat in Red Square for our coffee and a very chocolaty apricot muffin. A cruise ship was in today and it never ceases to amaze me how all the passengers head to the cafes for food as soon as they get off the bus in the centre. It is like they don't get fed on board! We sat and watched them all coming into the café we were in and nearly all of them are overweight!

We then went into the souvenir shop and we bought some All Black baby clothes for Baby Meddows, very cute! I also found a lovely set of place mats with paintings by a local artist. They are the same pictures that are in the book given to me by some Lions ladies.

We went to the library for Jon to get some books and I read a magazine while I waited.

It was then off to the supermarket before going home in time for lunch.

We spent the afternoon sorting out clothes and trying to decided which to pack and bring with us to UK and which to send in the container. We didn't get very far.

I made a lemon syrup, yogurt cake for tea.

It was such a lovely evening that we decided to have dinner on the deck now that Jon has oiled the table and chairs and put them all back together again we had somewhere to sit.

I made Moroccan chicken kebabs and cooked them on then bbq, yummy.

We tried some red wine as we have not had any as Bertie does not like it. We didn't even drink the whole bottle but it upset Bertie so looks like one glass is more than enough of red.

Jon went to bed early and I stayed up to try and catch up with some Neighbours.

WEATHER
Hot and sunny 25 degrees
