Friday

What a horrible, worrying night I had last night. I think the longest spell of sleep I had was two and a half hours. It was like having a baby again!

Poor Totty was very unwell whimpering, panting and wanting to go out to the loo all the time. I felt so sad for her and really wanted the morning to come quickly.

I rang the vet as soon as they opened at 7.30 and they told me to take her down. After examination they gave her a long term antibiotic and another anti-inflammatory injection and a Buscopan injection to stop the tummy spasms as her tummy was very bloated and tight. He gave me a tin of special food and a sachet of salts and minerals to give her instead of plain water. They wanted to keep her in but as she frets so much when there they thought it would make her more stressed so he said to call him at 1.00 and let him know how she was going.

I thought Jon was home all morning but he had a meeting so I had to call the Red Cross and tell them I couldn't go in. I felt very bad as Sharon is off to a wedding today and Les had not turned in either. The lady covering for Sharon said she would have to shut the shop if nobody else could come in. Not a lot I could do and I certainly didn't want to come home to a messy house if Totty had wanted to get out.

I was so tired I just sat in the doorway of the dinning area where the sun comes in at this time of year and read a magazine. Totty finally calmed down with her breathing and fell asleep which is the first time she has settled since Wednesday - so relieved.

I did some washing and a few jobs around the house like scrubbing the bedroom carpet from where she didn't quite make it last night!

I had my lunch and then watched some Neighbours but fell asleep on the settee with Totty.

We were due to go out for dinner tonight but decided to stay home and had fish and chips instead.

Off to bed now and hopefully Totty will be much better tomorrow.

WEATHER
Sunny 26 degrees
