Monday

Another lovely morning so we decided to go down to the beach for a walk and take Totty. She was very good and really enjoyed the beach to begin with but she would not run and catch shells like she used to and mostly just walked along side of us.

It is the first proper walk both Totty and Jon have had for a long time and it was a lovely day for it. When Jon decided it was far enough we then turned round to go back. Totty got very tired and wouldn't walk so I had to carry her - not as fit as she used to be!

We then went to Tay Street Café for a coffee and sat in the sun and they always have bowls of water out for dogs so Totty was happy.

We then drove to the port to buy some fish and got held up in traffic as there was a fire in a workshop just near the fish shop. The police allowed me to drive to the fish shop and get my fish!

We came home and I hung out my washing and did a few jobs around the house.

After lunch Jon got the lists I made of all the furniture and things as we need to put values on everything for insurance but we need to get on to it. The company Jon has been working for have extended his contract till Easter so he is employed again which is nice we can have butter on our bread now!

When I hung out the washing I noticed black bits on it and inside the drum and could see down the middle of the agitator that it was all gunky. As I was not sure how to clear it I Googled it and found a few solutions but lots of people saying it was a problem. I first tried dishwasher powder and a hot wash followed by washing soda and another hot wash but it was still messy. I then found that I could unscrew the agitator and take it out. I then spent over an hour cleaning it what a mess. I think I will stop using fabric softener as that is what causes it and not doing hot washes. I am glad I did it though as I would have been very embarrassed had I sold it in that state!

I cooked fish for dinner tonight but I didn't want much, not much appetite these days. Jon had his first beer tonight but said it didn't taste that good!

We watched some TV and I did my knitting which is now very big and I am on the last ball of wool. We had a cool evening so it was nice to have a cosy blanket on my lap!
